One of the things we love most about Key West is the fact that there are so many wonderful art galleries tucked in nooks and crannies all over the island.
One of Key West’s latest additions is SeaSister Island Gallery, a cool new boutique art gallery recently opened in the heart of Key West’s diversely celebrated 300 Block of Duval Street.
Owner Rachel Garreau has been part of Key West’s cultural fabric for over 45 years and is now curating a fantastic group of local and international artists from around the globe.
Garneau’s new digs specialize in upscale contemporary visual art. You’ll find world-class creations that range from original oils to watercolors, bronze, steel, and glass sculptures, to photography and historical island Folk Art crafted from old salvaged shutters.
Garreau is committed to making art accessible to everyone. Maybe that’s why her space feels more like someone’s living room than some high-brow art gallery. And why she features artwork by both well-known and not-so-well-known artists. Believe it or not, you can score original pieces here for under $100.
Now that’s what we call “the Art of the Deal!”
SeasSister Island Gallery is open on Monday from 11 am – 4 pm, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm, and Sunday from 10 am – 4 pm. You can find it at 303 Duval St, Key West. Info 954-232-7248; seasisterislandgallery.com
