Nothing says “Jimmy Buffett” like Key West, so it’s all the more befitting that his Broadway musical has flip-flopped its way from the Big Apple to our tiny island paradise.

Buffett’s “Escape to Margaritaville, The Musical” hits the stage at Key West’s Waterfront Playhouse on Thursday, October 20, and plays through Saturday, November 12, with a special preview on Wednesday, October 19.

And you know that it’s going to be a HUGE sell-out.

The hilarious jukebox musical features over two dozen songs from Jimmy Buffett’s tropical-burnout catalog. The songfest takes a “Bachelor in Paradise” view of romance where a beach bum guitarist falls for an environmental scientist while his bartender buddy suffers from flashbacks filled with tap-dancing life insurance agents.

The premise may sound a bit ditzy, but, hey, this is Key West, and frothy margaritas backdropped by “drunken Caribbean rock n’ roll” is why so many snowbirds flock here. And let’s face it, there’s no better way to get away from it all than by kicking back for a night of Jimmy Buffet classics. “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Fins,” “Margaritaville,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” “Volcano,” and lots of other beloved Buffett favorites totally fill the bill.
