What the heck is going on with the Key West Theater?!?!
Old Town’s sleepy underdog performance stage underwent a dramatic transformation earlier this year and then Bam! It’s suddenly become the island’s hottest cultural hub for the arts and music community, attracting big names like Travis Tritt, Air Supply, Jefferson Starship, Gary Puckett, Rick Springfield, Michael McDonald and Arlo Guthrie, just to name a few.
The nonprofit theater recently partnered with Rams Head Promotions, a booking agency renowned for luring notable “nostalgia act” musicians and other popular artists to Key West. In addition to the theater, performances also take place at various venues around town including the new Key West Amphitheater at Truman Waterfront Park where Grammy nominee, Lee Brice will be performing on Thursday, November 7. Other upcoming shows include Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues, Paula Poundstone, Bret Michaels, Sinbad, Tommy Castro, Joan Osborne and many more.
Situated in what was originally the First Baptist Church of Key West in 1848, the 278-seat main stage theater also includes a 50-seat Back Stage Listening Room, a recording studio and conference room.
The Key West Theater is located 512 Eaton Street in Key West. For more info on what’s coming up, call 305-985-0433 or go to thekeywesttheater.com.
