If you’re looking for an authentic Keys experience, head over to Porky’s Bayside in Marathon. Originally known as Bill Thompson’s Villa and Marina, it was the place to be in the 1950s and hosted all sorts of famous visitors, including Ernest Hemingway, Jimmy Hoffa, and Elizabeth Taylor.
Today, the legend continues.
Overlooking Capt Pip’s Marina & Hideaway, this funky, open-air local hang is renowned for its rough-hewn waterfront setting, top live entertainment, and lip-smackin’, finger-lickin’ roll-up-your-sleeves bbq. (FYI: They’ve also just added a lush, full size 18-hole miniature golf course with an amazing coral rock waterfall! You can even rent a boat, jet ski or book an Eco-Tour here!)

If fresh local seafood is more your gig, the Lobster Bisque, Asian Seared Sashimi Tuna, and Florida Bay Jumbo Shrimp are also wonderful.

Porky’s is open daily, 8 am – 10 pm at 1410 Overseas Hwy, Marathon. Info: 305-289-2065; porkysbaysideBBQ.com.
