Gay Parade With more and more of our human rights being usurped by far-right politicians, it’s more important than ever that we stand together and celebrate our diversity.

Created by Key West artist and human rights activist JT Thompson, our “One Human Family” ethos is more than just a slogan. It’s a philosophy that we locals (gay, trans, straight, binary, or whatever) proudly live by daily.

Gay ParadeRenowned as one of the most harmonious and welcoming communities in America, our little piece of paradise is not only a top vacation destination that draws visitors from around the world, but it’s also a famous “Come As You Are” mecca that attracts thousands of LGBTQ+ visitors to our shores. Especially in the summer, three significant events keep the tiny two-mile by four-mile island hopping.

Key West Pride, which takes place Wednesday, June 5 – Sunday, June 9, is always one big party. In addition to the lively bar scene, there are lots of other events going on, starting with the notorious Pride Follies on Saturday, June 1. Now in its 16th year, the fabulous Follies is a precursor of all the of fun things to come. Highlights include a Kick Off Disco Party, “We Are Family” Street Fair, Drunken’ Drag Brunch, and a colorful Pride Parade down Key West’s famous Duval Street. In between you can enjoy plenty of pool and beach parties, water activities, and a whole lot more.

tropical heatThe action continues when Tropical Heat, Key West’s hottest event for men, cranks up the temperature on Wednesday, August 7 – Sunday, August 11. With all-male theme activities, pool parties, and adult-oriented entertainment, it’s a steamy four days — rain or shine.womenfest

Just as the last rays of summer start to fade, Key West explodes with WomenFest which runs from Wednesday, September 4 – Sunday, September 8. One of the largest gatherings of lesbians and friends in North America, this four days of revelry includes pool parties, water excursions, late-night parties, and more. And here’s the best part: you don’t have to be gay to go!
