If you’re looking for a night of great music, fabulous wines, stylish cocktails and hanging out with the most interesting people, you need to check out “Jazz In The Gardens.” A “favorite hang for the local jazz cognoscenti” this free weekly music series takes place every Sunday from 5:30 – 7 pm at the luxe Gardens Hotel.
Once the largest private estate in Key West, the Gardens Hotel is now home to 17 luxurious guest suites, along with the D’vine Wine Gallery, a state-of-the art automated wine bar. Nestled in a magical, greenery filled courtyard, the hotel’s Gazebo Stage draws some of the island’s top local musicians and singers as well as visiting musical artists who perform time honored ballads, newly created tunes and astonishing jam sessions.
When you can’t stop tapping your toes, dancing on the brick courtyard is always a welcomed option. The music is even sweeter when you add a flavorful pour from the wonderful wine selection of the D’Vine Wine Gallery or choose your favorite cocktail from the full poolside bar.
There’s no better way to end your weekend on a high note. BTW: You can also listen to the keyboard prowess of assorted musicians several other nights per week as they tickle the ivories of the baby grand piano inside the Gardens Hotel lobby. When great music is on your mind, just pop into the Gardens Hotel.
You can find it at 525 Angela St between Duval and Simonton. Info: 305-294-2661; gardenshotel.com.
These Sunday night jazz events are terrific! I’ve dropped by twice during the past couple of years — and each time had great conversations with some lovely people. The music, of course, is terrific!
