Key West is world-renowned for its wild Honkey-Tonk scene. But sometimes, even die-hard party animals must take a break from the Margaritaville Madness of Lower Duval.
And that’s when it’s time to head Uptown.
Close to the hustle and bustle but far from the maddening crowds, Duval’s 800 Block has a whole different vibe. It’s where we locals go to chill. Lighting the way to one of our favorite neighborhood hangs is an unobtrusive blue-lit stairway that portals patrons to a sexy candle-lit nook — hidden just a few steps from Duval.
Welcome to the Little Room, where Key West’s coolest characters come to kick back. This posh little club hosts world-class jazz performances by top artists seven nights a week. You’ll get to listen and dance to the sultry sounds of Key West’s hottest acts, including the Seth Kessel & Yacht Club Swing Band, Skipper Kripitz & Co, Blues and Roots solo pianist Barry Cuda & The Sharks, and many, many others.
You don’t have to be a jazz cognoscenti to feel comfortable here.
Inventive craft cocktails, artisanal lite bites (see sample menu on page 69), and a friendly, eclectic crowd always make for a fun night on the town.
The Little Room is open from 5 pm to midnight-ish with a special Piano Bar Happy Hour from 5:30 – 7:30pm. Headline performances start at 8 pm. Discover this ultra-cool music venue at 821 Duval St, Key West. Info: 305-741-7515; littleroomjazzclub.com.
