Gay! Gay! Gay!
There, we’ve said it, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis can’t shut us up. That’s because Key West’s “One Human Family” ethos is more than just a slogan; it’s a philosophy that we locals (gay, trans, straight, binary, or whatever) proudly live by every day.
Renowned as one of the most harmonious and welcoming communities in America, our little piece of paradise is not only a top vacation destination that draws visitors from around the world, it’s also a famous “Come As You Are” mecca that attracts thousands of LGBTQ+ visitors to our shores. Especially in the summer, when three major events keep the tiny two-mile by four-mile island hopping.
Key West Pride, which takes place Wednesday, June 1 – Sunday, June 5, is always one big party. In addition to the lively bar scene, there are lots of other events going on, including a PrideFest Street Fair, pool and beach parties, water activities, the notorious Pride Follies plus a whole lot more.
The action continues when Tropical Heat, Key West’s hottest event for men, cranks up the temperature on Wednesday, August 10 – Sunday, August 14. With all-male theme activities, pool parties, and adult-oriented entertainment, it’s a steamy four days — rain or shine.
Just as the last rays of summer start to fade, Key West explodes with WomenFest which runs from Wednesday, September 7 – Sunday, September 11. One of the largest gatherings of lesbians and friends in North America, this four days of revelry includes pool parties, water excursions, late-night parties, and more. And here’s the best part: you don’t have to be gay to go! Get more deets at 305-294-4603; gaykeywestfl.com.
