Lillian BaxterCabaret meets the Great American Songbook in high heels when “An Evening with
Lillian Baxter” returns to Key West for a hilarious romp down memory lane on Wednesday, December 27 through Sunday, December 31.

Presented by Fringe “Art House” Theater, this whirlwind one-act show chronicles the comeback tour of Hollywood’s favorite “has been” – Lillian Baxter, as she ponders love and a life shared with seven gay ex-husbands.

Lillian BaxterThe setting is 1970 and Lillian has gone from MGM to television, to obscurity. Now she’s back on the road delivering a knockout musical revue (and review) of her love life (and life of love). Also along for the ride is Lillian’s faithful accompanist, international playboy (and favorite ex-husband), Corky Weinstopper.

Created by John Vessels, with Jay Schwandt on piano, the fictional Lillian Baxter sings the songs and tells the tales that celebrate life on the road less traveled. Show tunes? You bet! Gay anthems? Why not! Fabulous costumes? As long as they’re within budget! Lillian Baxter is so loved by the gay community that seven of them married her. Now she’s coming back to the Conch Republic to give a whole lot of love right back. Buckle in, glitter up, and spend “An Evening with Lillian Baxter.”

Lillian BaxterYou can catch this fabulous musical memoir of the “greatest star nobody’s ever heard of,” at the Little Jazz Room, 821 Dual Street in Key West. Doors open at 6pm with bar and food service available until the show begins at 7pm. Tickets are available online at keystix.com or by calling 305-731-0581. Seating is limited so make sure to reserve your tickets pronto!
