As you meander around the streets of Key West, you can’t help noticing all of the cool houses nestled among the flora and fauna. Wouldn’t it be just fabulous if you could actually see what was behind some of those front doors? Well, here’s your chance.
The annual Key West Home Tours,™ coming up on Friday, December 27 on Saturday December 28; is one of the oldest and longest running home tours in America.
Old Island Restoration Foundation (OIRF) has been throwing open the doors to some of Key West’s most interesting properties since 1960 and this upcoming tour promises to be exceptional.
You’ll be able to visit five gorgeous homes and gardens reflecting the varied tastes and originality of their owners. This year, OIRF is including a Bonus 6th Stop at historic inns/hotels that will offer free drinks and some yummy nibbles.
These incredible restorations, creative renovations and unique interiors often showcase personal art collections, antiques, and much more.
All proceeds from the tours stay in our local community fulfilling OIRF’s mission of “Celebrating and sustaining Key West’s unique architecture, culture and history.”
The self-guided tours take place from 10am – 4pm and you can start at any one of the participating properties. BTW: If you can’t make the upcoming December tour, you’ll have another chance on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15; as well as on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 the day of the event.
