Does award-winning fine art photographer, Alan Maltz, ever sleep?
You wouldn’t think so, given the extraordinary amount of work he has in the pipeline.
As the official wildlife and fine art photographer for the state of Florida, and with five highly acclaimed coffee table books to his credit (sixth in progress), Maltz never seems to stop. A master at capturing evocative moments of wildlife and landscapes, his photographs are highly coveted. Many of his works hang in public and private collections worldwide, including the Carter Presidential Library in Atlanta and he was recently inducted into the Florida Tourism Hall of Fame by Visit Florida Board of Directors.
Shooting just as the day breaks or when the sun winds down, Maltz always follows the light and seems to have an intuitive sense of knowing what to do and when to do it. His signature style of “drive, stop, shoot” frames the little nuances of everyday life, and his new collection is emblematic of this technique.
As Maltz says, “When I see something that speaks to me, I just stop, focus and capture.”
And capture, he does.
Like all of Maltz’s work, his new “On the Road” collection reflects his masterful use of dramatic lighting. It features upward of 200 releases, many of which will debut in the coming weeks at his Old Town Key West gallery and other platforms.
Designed by Maltz’s wife, Leslie, who is also his Creative Director and soul mate, the spacious, beautiful multi-level Alan S Maltz Gallery and studio showcases his 40 year collection of Florida imagery, which has become his legacy. These Limited & Open Edition pieces are available in a number of sizes, price points & printing options including aluminum, canvas & glass.
The gallery also features an eclectic assortment of exceptional works by other artists including handblown glass, classic vintage furnishings and more.
Maltz’s art and books are available on the gallery’s website. But for a real treat, visit the Alan S Maltz Gallery at 1210 Duval Street in Key West, now celebrating it’s 24th anniversary.
