Michael, Robert, Joe and William DePaula

Nicknamed “The Grey Ghost” by legendary fisherman and writer Zane Grey, the Bonefish is an iconic symbol of the Florida Keys backcountry. It’s also the inspiration for one of the many incredible handcrafted nautical jewelry designs by Master Jeweler Joe DePaula.

Renowned for having crafted some of the Keys’ most beautiful ocean-inspired jewelry, DePaula Jewelers is a family affair. Joe and his wife, Lynn who is also a Graduate Gemologist, launched their business back in 1984 when their four children William, Robert, Michael and Stephanie were just gangly island kids.

Today, the whole family plays an active role in the DePaula’s two brick and mortar stores in Tavernier and Islamorada, as well as in their burgeoning online shop at DePaulas.com.DePalma watch

Both the brick and mortars and the online shop showcase a huge selection of fine jewelry: from handcrafted sea creatures, fish hooks and authentic treasure coins, to a carefully curated selection of nautical jewelry, classic pieces, and sport watches like Casio G-Shock, Oris, Burton, Seiko, Nixon and the oh-so-elegant Obaku.

One of a kind pieces are the DePaula’s specialty. Joe and William’s stellar designs along with Lynn’s signature gem settings, have garnered them a loyal following both locally and around the globe.

If you’re searching for something truly “Keys” unique; something that reflects our timeless island lifestyle, DePaula’s Jewelers is worth a look.
