You don’t have to be in the Keys to enjoy a far-out festival that revolves around all things mango!
Key West’s very first virtual festival, Mango Madness, which happens Monday, June 22 and runs through Sunday, June 28, virtually transports you right into the heart of Key West in the blink of an eye.
Imagine being able to “stroll” through a Mango Mania “Virtual Vendor Village” where you can experience all things mango, without ever having to leave your house. You’ll actually be able to visit vendors and art galleries, order great food and even shop our local boutiques – all from the comfort of your home.
Festival week begins on Monday, June 22 with an array of daily culinary and cocktail videos that start at noon each day. If you want to learn how to create intriguing dishes with mangos, make the best Mango Mojito north of Havana or shake things up with a Mango Margarita, be sure to tune in.
Things really start heat up on Thursday, June 25 with a Kick Off Party on Higgs Beach from 6 – 9pm. On Friday, June 26, from 11am – 1pm you can attend the very first “Mango Lunch” where each course will feature a different variety of mango. Then at 1pm, renowned chef, Martha Hubbard creates delicious mango delights during her engaging Masterclass Cooking Demo which takes place at The Key West Faith Center.
The Mania continues on Saturday, June 27 with a Mango Culinary Competition at Key West’s Bayview Park from 9am – 10pm followed by the Mango Virtual Vendor Village at Truman Waterfront Park from 10am – 3pm. This is your chance to experience all things mango – from mango tastings and mango daiquiris to mango trees.
Wrapping things up on Sunday, June 28, is the Perry Hotel’s special Mango Brunch from 7am – 10am where master chefs will add an intriguing mango twist to the hotel’s weekly brunch menu.
Proceeds from the festival benefit the Police Athletic League and is one of the Keys’ largest fundraiser for kids. To donate directly or for more information on this cool virtual event go to mangofestkeywest.com.
