Summer comes but once a year, and with it, the bounty of the Keys’ burgeoning mango trees. Late in June, when the islands’ mango trees are bursting with clusters of this juicy fruit, our little piece of paradise honors the harvest with the annual Key West Mango Fest. This sweet event celebrates all things mango.
This year’s annual festival takes place from Thursday, June 22, through Sunday, June 25, and features an amazing array of activities.
The festival begins on Thursday, June 22, with a Mango Fest Kick-Off Party from 5-7 pm at one of Key West’s newest and coolest places: The Garden Cafe, located at 1105 Simonton Street.
Grab a bite and sip some great wines at Kikis Corner Wine Bar. Then get ready for more fun things to come!
Throughout the weekend, you can enjoy a full roster of culinary competitions and demonstrations, mango tastings, mango recipes, and a mango brunch, as well as a terrific silent auction and mango art contest.
Topping the four-day festival is the famous Mango Village where you can shop for all kinds of special mango related items and other best-selling products from local galleries, jewelers, gift shops, book stores and more! The Village is open from 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday, June 24 at Key West’s Bayview Park on the corner of Truman and Eisenhower Drive.
Proceeds from the festival benefit the Police Athletic League, the Keys’ most significant fundraiser for kids.
