Funny Man, Tom Luna

Who would have thunk it: a biker from Mobile, Alabama who now tools around Key West on a 2003 purple Yamaha Roadster, once donned ballet slippers and twirled on stage at NYC’s American Ballet Theater? Meet Tom Luna. Tutus aside, this former ballet dancer may have given up
pirouetting in the Big Apple, but he hasn’t abandoned his love for the footlights. One of Key West’s most interesting characters, Luna is still a powerful presence on stage: whether he’s performing in productions like “I Hate Hamlet” at the Waterfront Playhouse, or emceeing Fantasy Fest’s signature Headdress Ball, this ruggedly handsome “Renaissance Man” is an exceptional showman with a sense of humor that rivals any stand-up comic. As the outrageously funny emcee for Key West’s 36th Annual Headdress Ball (Thursday, October 25th), Luna will be joined by headliners Christopher Peterson, Randy Roberts, and a host of other local celebrities. With Luna at the helm, it’s a show you don’t want to miss. When he’s not lighting up the stages of Key West or gunning that 2003 purple Yamaha Roadster, you’ll most likely find Tom Luna tending bar at The Marker Waterfront Resort in Key West or appearing in “Dueling Bartenders” on Monday nights at Aqua, 711 Duval Street. Stop in for a couple of belts and plenty of laughs. And please do tell him that we said “Hello!”
